The important ingredients for making
this recipe include one to two, medium sized Shrimp,
well boiled and peeled off. It also requires some
quantity of chopped onions as well as chopped green
pepper and three fourth of finely drained celery. Then,
you require four-table spoon of bacon drippings as well
as minced parsley to the same quantity. After that, you
require 6 ounces of smoked ham cut into cubes and a bay
leaf, crumbled well. Then, you require some quantity of
tomatoes as well as tomato sauce. Then, you need three
fourth of cold water and uncooked rice of the same
quantity. Finally, you require quarter teaspoon of salt
and pepper for its rich taste.
Now the
directions to make the recipe are that, take a large
frying pan and put all the ingredients like the onion,
garlic, green pepper and celery. Fry these to about 8 to
10 minutes until it becomes golden in color. Then, you
add the ham cubes, bay leaf, thyme in the frying pan for
about 5 to 7 minutes. Next, you need to include
tomatoes, sauce and their juice, simmer in the kettle
for around 5 minutes. Then, you need to boil the
uncooked rice for around 40 minutes and need to cook the
Shrimp for about 20 minutes or so until it turns pink
and cooked well. Now, the rice is done and the water is
absorbed and taste the Jambalaya, add salt or pepper if
